Rev. Dr. Mary Walton, MSW, M. Div., D., Min. is a former Interval House Executive Director who now serves as Sr. Management Adviser to Interval House and its intercultural and interfaith projects – specializing in the complex domestic violence issues affecting diverse communities of faith, color and culture. Dr. Walton holds a Masters in Social Work from the University of Pittsburg, a Master of Divinity from Claremont School of Theology and received her Doctorate of Ministry from United Theological Seminary in 2010, with her dissertation being: A Faith-based African American Network for Violence Free Relationships.

Recognized as a pioneer in the domestic violence justice and assistance movement, Mary has spent the last 35 years serving as an administrator and leading advisor to family violence programs and coalition efforts. Many of these programs were started or designated as a result of her dynamic guidance and dedication to developing services and public policy for victims and high risk populations.

In 2013, Dr. Walton was awarded as the “Most Amazing Woman in Community Service” in the City of Long Beach in the Long Beach Press Telegram.
