Marianne Venieris Gastelum served as the Executive Director of the CSULB Center for International Trade and Transportation (CITT) until retiring in December 2013. She continues to serve on the CITT Policy & Steering Committee. Marianne founded CITT and developed CITT’s organizational structure. She built a partnership of internal trade and transportation with university leadership that resulted in the implementation of a professional development initiative and educational forums that addressed issues critical to all goods movement stakeholders.

She served as Deputy Director for the METRANS Transportation Center, a partnership of USC and CSULB, and was responsible for METRANS administration and activities at CSULB. She received the CSULB Community Service Award; the Stanley T. Olafson Bronze Plaque from the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce in recognition of outstanding contribution to the advancement of world trade and international relations; the Diversity Leadership Award from Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS-LA); the Soroptimist’s Woman of Distinction Award in International Goodwill and Understanding; and the Domenick Miretti Award for Ground-breaking Leadership and Long- term Dedication to the Goods Movement Industry.
