Jean C. Joseph, Ph.D., DABCC, MHA served as Administrative Director of Laboratory Services at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center at the Mission Viejo and Laguna Beach campuses from 2009 t0 2017. Prior to this position, Dr. Joseph served as Assistant Director of Laboratories at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach until 1997, Regional Manager at Argus Medical Management in 1998, Chief Operating Officer at Comprehensive Drug Testing in Long Beach from 1999 to 2006, and Laboratory Director at Beverly Hospital in Montebello, CA from 2006-2008.
Dr. Joseph received her Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago, IL. After working two years in research, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Chemistry at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. She received her MHA from Chapman University in Orange, CA in 1990. She received her JD from Concord Law School in 2011.


In addition to being Board Certified in both Chemistry and Toxicological Chemistry by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry (ABCC), Dr. Joseph is licensed as a Clinical Chemist by the State of California. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.


Dr. Joseph has served as President and Secretary-Treasurer of ABCC and as President of the Substance Abuse Program Administrator’s Certification Commission. In addition, she has been a member of the Board of Directors for the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC), the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry and the National Registry for Clinical Chemists. Dr. Joseph has received AACC’s Award for Outstanding Contributions through Service to the Profession of Clinical Chemistry, an AACC Presidential Citation, and the Herbert O. Carne Service Award from the AACC Southern California Section.
