There is so much to be grateful for at our hospital and we look forward to celebrating our centennial in the coming months. Our hope is that St. Mary’s healing ministry will continue to thrive for another 100 years as it meets the growing health care needs of our community.

|
St. Mary Medical Center had the honor of recognizing three outstanding individuals with its inaugural Spirit of St. Mary Award at its recent holiday party. The first two recipients were Long Beach Chief of Police, Wally Hebeish, for his department, as well as Chief Xavier Espino on behalf of the Long Beach Fire Department. Dr. Robert Lugliani received the Spirit of St. Mary Award in gratitude for his devotion to patients, for his 56 years of service to our hospital, for his generosity as a donor, for embodying the highest ideals of his calling as a physician, and for so wonderfully fulfilling our mission.

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month - Marcela's Story |
Human trafficking is a global issue. Although this crime crosses all age, economic, cultural, gender, sexual orientation, racial, and social lines, traffickers often target persons in situations of vulnerability. We must refrain from passing judgment and offer compassion and help to persons in need.
Know the signs. Know the steps. Know the resources.
Marcela's story serves as a reminder of how powerful and transformative each one of our roles is in our collective effort to respond to human trafficking in our communities.
