Concert for Humankindness raises over $27,000

Special thanks to all who were able to join us for the Concert for Humankindness, benefitting our health equity fund on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 (World Gratitude Day) featuring virtual performances by a diverse mix of Grammy award winning/nominated artists who believe in a healthier tommorow.

Dr. Ali Jamehdor discuss pregnant women & vaccine |
Dignity Health - St. Mary Medical Center and Dr. Ali Jamehdor, Medical Director of Emergency Medicine were featured on ABC Channel 7 News over the weekend. The focus of the story was on the importance of pregnant women receiving the COVID-19 vaccine with studies showing the positive impact it has on the health of mothers during pregnancy.

Maternity Care Honor Roll Recognition |
St. Mary Medical Center was recently recognized with the 2021 Maternity Honor Roll Award by the California Health and Human Services (CHHS) Agency, Hospital Quality Institute (HQI), and Cal Hospital Compare (CHC) for our achievements and successes in maternity care and for keeping the Cesarean section percentage for low-risk, first-time births lower than the standard rate. Thank you to the entire Labor & Delivery and Maternity Care teams for providing our expecting mothers with high-quality health care throughout the duration of their journeys.

Recent Grant Awards
In collaboration with national CommonSpirit Health staff, St. Mary Medical Center Foundation staff partnered on a grant proposal that led to a $2.5 million grant award to St. Joseph's Behavioral Health Center (SJBHC), from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to expand medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for residents of Stockton in California's Central Valley in San Joaquin County.
Up to 5,000 community members will be reached and 475 adults with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), including probationers and parolees, will receive MAT treatment and recovery services over the 5-year grant period; 50% will reduce illicit and prescription opioid usage. Click here to learn more.
